Official Terms and Conditions
The purpose of this raffle is to raise funds for the American Legion Post 86 Scholarship and Veteran Support Programs. These programs award local scholarships to the child or grandchild of a veteran and directly support various veteran programs and initiatives at American Legion Post 86 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
1. Raffle Period and Eligibility

2. Tickets and Purchase
• Ticket Availability: Tickets may be purchased year-round both online (via the official raffle website) and in-person at the Post, and at various community events throughout Nacogdoches County.
• No Refunds: All ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be issued. The cost of a raffle ticket is not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
• Use of Proceeds: All funds raised from this raffle directly support the American Legion Post 86 Scholarship Program (for the children and grandchildren of veterans) and Veteran Programs that serve our local veteran community.
3. Drawing and Winner Notification
Drawing Date: The winner(s) will typically be drawn on the First Monday of December (usually during the private Post 86 Christmas Dinner/Regular Meeting). This date is subject to change without notice at the discretion of American Legion Post 86. Check website for updates.
Drawing Location: The drawing is conducted at a private Post event and is NOT open to the public. Winner(s) do not need to be present to win.
Selection Method: The winner will be selected using the RandomPicker.com platform. All eligible ticket entries are assigned a sequential number, from 1 up to the total number of tickets sold. RandomPicker.com will be used to randomly select the winning number from this range.
Winner Notification: A representative from American Legion Post 86 will personally contact the winner(s) via the phone number provided on the winning ticket stub. The Post commits to notifying all winners by the end of the week following the drawing date.
4. Prize and Firearm Transfer (Revised)
• Raffle Prize: The specific firearm prize(s) for the 2026 raffle are detailed on the official raffle page (https://naclegion86.com/annual-raffle/).
• Compliance with Law: All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply to the transfer of the firearm prize.
• Transfer Process: The prize transfer will be facilitated exclusively through a licensed Federal Firearm License (FFL) dealer designated by American Legion Post 86.
• Winner Responsibility: The winner is solely responsible for:
• Passing all applicable state and federal background checks as required by law to legally possess the firearm.
• Any associated costs, including FFL transfer fees, taxes, shipping costs, or any other fees imposed by the transfer dealer or regulatory bodies.
• Failure to Qualify: If the winner fails to pass the required background check or is otherwise legally disqualified from receiving the firearm under federal, state, or local law, the winner will forfeit the prize. In this event, the American Legion Post 86 reserves the right to retain the prize or conduct a new drawing. The winner is not entitled to a cash substitute or refund of the ticket price.
• Prize Availability: There will be no substitution of the advertised firearm prize with a cash equivalent or alternate prize. The advertised firearm is the only prize awarded. If the firearm prize becomes unavailable or cannot be legally transferred to the winner, the winner will forfeit the prize, and American Legion Post 86 reserves the right to retain the prize or conduct a new drawing.
